Tips On Golf Swing: What A Worn-Out Glove Heel Might Indicate

best tips for golf swingOne of the best tips on golf swing is to understand what a worn-out  heel area of a glove might reveal to you.

Just as in other tips on golf swing, a worn-out heel glove may reveal several things to you.

Most golfers typically will wear the heel of their glove more than in other areas. This is the very reason why some gloves are reinforced in the heel area.

However, when the heel area of a glove is worn excessively, it usually indicates some setup or swing deficiency.

First, it may indicate that you are losing , or loosening, your grip during your swing, typically at the top of your swing.

There may be several causes for failing to maintain your grip during your swing.

It could be that you are not gripping your club correctly.

Considering this could be the cause, you should have a professional instructor check your grip. Unfortunately, some golfers with an incorrect grip have never gone to the trouble of having a professional check their grip.

They simply have relied on some advice from a friend or are gripping their club as instructed in a book or magazine.

Do not expect to hit your golf ball straight with an improper grip.

The second swing defect that may be indicated as a result of a worn heel area of a glove is a lack of a sufficient shoulder turn. This too can cause one to loosen his or her grip during the swing.

If you swing past the point that your shoulders stop turning during your back swing, you will become disconnected. Not only may it cause some wear on the heel of your glove,  it typically will result in a mishit golf shot.

I find a third reason why some gloves tend to wear more in the heel area is because of an improper setup to the ball.

Several setup defects may be indicated by a worn heel glove.

The golfer stands too near or, too far from, the ball. They widen or narrow their stance too much. They do not stand erect enough to their ball. They do not position the ball correctly in their stance, etc.

Also, if you do not stay within your golf swing, it could cause the heel area of your glove to wear more excessively than in other areas.

If this is the reason, you should concentrate on keeping your forward heel firmly planted and maintain eye contact with your ball from the beginning of your swing through impact. These two disciplines alone should prevent you from swaying off your axis during your swing.

Keep these tips on golf swing in mind when practicing or playing and see if your glove is not as worn as much in the heel area as in the past.

Best Golf Swing Tips: Keep Constant Eye Contact With Your Ball

golf swing instructionsOne of the best golf swing tips is to maintain constant eye contact with your ball from the beginning of your swing until your club face strikes your ball.

This means one of the best golf swing tips is to keep eye contact with your ball through impact.

You often hear Professional golfers speak of staying on top of the ball. This is a confusing concept for recreational and weekend golfers.

What does “staying on top of the ball” mean?

It is just another description of keeping your eye on your ball throughout your swing. It probably is some terminology thought of by some instructor to charge higher instructional fees.

It is just another way of coaching a student to keep a steady head during the swing.

However,  instructing golfers to keep a steady head throughout the golf swing does not seem to be in vogue with most coaches nowadays, although such legendary golfers as Palmer and Nicklaus had no problem with it.

Although I subscribe to the notion that you must keep a steady head during the golf swing but, not a still or rigid head position, it is difficult for golfers to do so without a better “swing thought.”

I believe a better “swing thought” than that of staying on top of the ball or keeping a steady head during the golf swing is to maintain constant eye contact with the ball from the beginning of the swing until the club face makes contact with the ball at impact.

Assuming you have established a square alignment and an on line swing path of your club face with it centered as near as possible to the back of your ball and then, keep your left foot planted firmly and maintain eye contact with your ball through impact, you will hit straight golf shots.

You also will understand why maintaining eye contact with your ball through impact remains one of the best golf swing tips.

Tips For Golf Swing: Keep Your Left Arm Relatively Straight But Not Rigid

best golf swing instructionsOn of the most meaningful tips for golf swing is to keep your left arm relatively straight during your golf swing.

However, this tip for golf swing is not to suggest you should keep your left arm rigid in such instance.

There has been some controversy about whether keeping the left arm straight during the golf swing is an advantage or a disadvantage.

Since most golfers want to hit the best golf shots possible, the pros and cons of keeping the left arm straight during the golf swing is worth some analysis.

A recent article suggests the best golf swing instructions on the subject would be to maintain a straight left arm during the golf swing but not a rigid one.

Here is a part of the article:

“One of golf’s most popular tips is to keep your left (front) arm straight.

While there are some advantages to keeping your left arm straight, it often leads to the lead arm being too rigid and dominating the swing.”

Read more…http://www.sanmarcosrecord.com/sports/x1561301732/One-tip-to-a-better-easier-swing.

In my view, the article is spot on.

When I first began to play golf, instructors insisted on keeping the left arm absolutely straight during the golf swing.

Many contended that in order to hit a straight golf ball, you needed to keep a straight left arm during both the back swing and downswing.

Sometimes, when golf students process such golf swing tips, they have a tendency to carry the instructions to the exteme and so did I in this case.

Instead of keeping a relatively straight left arm during my golf swing in those earlier years of learning the game, I not only kept my left arm straight, I actually was locking the elbow joint.

As a result of overly concentrating on my left arm and attempting to keep it as straight as possible, my tempo, rhythm and balance went south.

It actually robbed me of distance and accuracy.

Nowadays, I do not concentrate on my left arm at all during my golf swing.

I know if I lock-in a square alignment and an online swing path of my club face during my set up proceedings, assume a comfortable stance and posture to my ball, align mmy shoulders parallel with my target line, keep my left heel planted and swing until my left shoulder is firmly touching or, is under, my chin during my back swing, I will hit my golf ball straight and far.

I now know this will happen whether my left arm is completely straight or relatively straight.

Therefore, the best tips for golf swing is to ensure your set up is correct, keep your left heel planted and swing your club until your left shoulder firmly touches or, is under, your chin. If so,  you will have no need to worry about a left straight arm.

Golf Swing Tips: Elbow Line/Shoulder Line Equals Club Face Swing Path

One of  the most significant golf swing tips is to understand the relationship between the elbow line and the shoulder line.tips on golf swing

That is to say, understanding that the relationship between the elbow line, the imaginary line running across the elbows, and the shoulder line, the imaginary line running across the shoulders, is one of the most important golf swing tips.

Many professional golf  instructors as well as golfers mistakenly believe that it is the relationship between the shoulderline and the target line that determines the swing path of the club face.

Unfortunately, they do not understand some golf swing basics.

The body does  not have a clue  as to the target.

The target line  could be at right angles to the shoulder line and the body would not know the difference. The body simply does know how the shoulders are aligned in relation to the elbow line.

When the elbow line is pointing to the inside of the shoulder line an out-to-in swing path of the clubface is created. However, unless locked-in,  the relationship between the shoulder line and the elbow line can be changed by almost any subsequent body movement.

When the elbow line is pointing to the outside of the shoulder line an in-to-out swing path of the clubface is created. Again, unless locked-in. almost any subsequent body movement can change the relationship between the shoulder line and the elbow line

These are merely some golf swing fundamentals you should understand to improve your golf game.

When the elbow line is aligned parallel with the shoulder line an online swing path of the clubface is created.

In turn, when there is a combination of an online swing path and a square alignment of the clubface at impact, straight golf shots will be produced.

This relationship likewise can be changed with any subsequent body movement unless it is locked-in.

The only golf  methods  that lock-in an online swing path of the clubface are the golf swing tips discussed in such books as my How To Hit A Golf Ball As Straight-As-An-Arrow and How To Lock-In A Perfect Golf Swing, all of which can be found at http://lockedingolf.com.

Golf Swing Tips:The Muscle Memory Approach To Golf Is Flawed

how to hit a golf ball straightOne of the most important golf swing tips is not to rely on the muscle memory approach to improve your golf swing.

The reason why the muscle memory approach is one of the worst golf swing tips imaginable is that it is based on a flawed premise.

The muscle memory golf  method erroneously assumes a golfer will have rotated his or her club face alignment as well as the swing path of the club face to establish an identical ball flight alignmnet with each golf shot.

However, rarely does a high handicap golfer rotate his or her club face to the same alignment in each set up proceeding.

Likewise, rarely do even  lower handicap players rotate their club face to the same alignment and swing path in each set up proceeding if they habitually unlock their lifeline/thumb connection while addressing the ball.

Yet, I continue to hear and read about the significance of the body memorizing how the swing should be executed, just like  in a portion of a recent article:

“To get that perfect golf swing motion memorized through your body there are plenty of things you must carry out before you take each shot. Each specialist has his or her own method of doing this, but there’s also an approach which can definitely be used by new players also, and we’re gonna be providing information about how to achieve this. Read more…http://www.writers4net.com/finance/fundraising/one-can-by-no-means-practice-a-lot-to-get-the-perfect-golf-swing-technique/.”

What memory muscle instructors don’t understand about golf is that once the grip is completed, any body movement thereafter will rotate the alignment  and swing path of the club face to a different and unknown ball flight alignment.

Considering there are several movements of the body from the time the grip is completed until the final address to the ball and, assume the ball flight alignment is different from the previous set up proceeding, if the body remembered to swing yhe club in the same exact manner as before, the ball would fly in a different direction and pattern.

Thus, the muscle memory golf method is flawed and unreliable, the very reason that those who depend on it rarely improve their golf game, irrespective of the numbers of instructors who may try to teach them.

The only true way to hit consistent golf shots is to rotate the club face to a desired alignment and swing path of the club face during the set up proceedings and then, lock-in the desired ball flight  alignment.

If then the remaining steps of the set up proceedings are met, all remaining would be to keep the left heel planted, maintain a head steady and execute a simple golf swing. In turn, the ball will fly precisely as intended without any reliance on so-called muscle memory.

You can find out more information about how to lock-in a desired ball flight alignment by visiting http://lockedingolf.com.

How To Hit A Golf Ball Straight: Do Not Rely On The “V’s” Theory

golf techniquesIf you want to learn how to hit a golf ball straight you should not rely on the “V’S” theory.

The reason why you can not rely on the “V’S” theory when trying to improve your golf game by learning how to hit a golf ball straight is that it has no anatomical validity.

Many golf instructors teach their students to grip the club in such a way that the “v” formed between the thumb and index finger of each hand should point in a specific direction in relation to the right shoulder or chin.

They believe the “v’ of each hand must point in a specific direction in relation to the right shoulder and the chin in order to have a correct grip and to hit straight golf shots.

For example, some instructors insist each “v” should point in the direction of the right shoulder at the completion of the grip

Some instructors contend one “v” should point to the chin and the other to the right shoulder.

Such legendary golfers such as Ben Hogan felt that ine “v” should point even more to the inside of the right shoulder.

Other instructors suggest each “v” should point in even more different directions at the completion of the grip.

The fact there is so much inconsistency among various instructors in the direction each “v” should point goes to demonstrate the fallacy of the theory.

If this golf method to grip the club had any validity,  each teacher would be instructing the same way. golf swing instructions

The reason why the V’S” theory has no validity is that the instant an interlocking, overlapping or baseball style of grip is formed on a club, the club face will rotate to a slice ball flight alignment irrespective of the direction in which each “v” points.

In order to convert this inherent slice ball flight alignment into a  straight ball flight alignment, one of the Locked-In Golf™ Techniques must be performed.

Once one of the Locked-In Golf™ Techniques is performed and a straight ball flight alignment is locked-in, it does not matter in which direction each “v” points.

Once a straight ball flight alignment is locked-in, all that remains is to complete the setup proceedings, keep the left heel planted, maintain a steady head position and execute a balanced golf swing.

The ball will fly on a straight path in the direction of the target, discounting wind conditions and elevation differences between the stance and the ball.

The best way to learn how to hit a straight golf shot and improve your golf game is to lock-in a straight ball flight alignment during the setup proceedings rather than relying on the “V’S” theory.

Golf Swing Tips: Four Ways To Hit Your Golf Ball Higher

golf swing instructions

In terms of golf swing instructions, you should know there are at least four easy ways to increase the trajectory of your ball flight. You should know more about these golf swing instructions to improve your golf game significantly.

These four ways to hit your ball higher apply whether you are hitting a fade, hook, slice or draw or straight golf shots.

One easy technique to increase the trajectory of your ball flight is to stand farther from your ball at final address.

If you lock-in a specific ball flight alignment, address your ball properly and execute a non-manipulative golf swing, as discussed below, you will be able to flight your ball in the pattern and direction desired.

Another golf swing tip is to hit your ball higher, when all things are considered, is to widen your stance at final address.

Widening your stance has the same effect as standing farther from the ball in that each will shallow out the swing and produce a higher trajectory of the ball, generally speaking.

If you widen your stance as well as stand farther from your ball, you should be able to attain even a higher trajectory of ball flight, theoretically.

A third means to produce a higher ball flight is to position your ball more forward in your stance during your setup routine.

Positioning our ball more forward in your stance will increase the angle of your clubface and, correspondingly, increase the flight of your ball.

Unfortunately, when the angle of your clubface is increased, the   relative distance you will be able to attain will be decreased.

A fourth way of increasing the trajectory of ball flight is to hit your ball harder than usual.

Theoretically, the harder you are able to hit your ball in terms of club head speed, the higher your ball will fly. This is the reason why professional players are able to hit their ball so high.

These four ways of increasing the height of your ball flight does not translate to assuring the direction and pattern of your ball flight.

In order to assure your ball will fly in the direction and pattern you desire you should lock-in such ball flight alignment during your setup routine.

If you lock-in a specific ball flight alignment, address your ball properly and execute a non-manipulative golf swing, you will be able to flight your ball in the pattern and direction you desire. In most cases, you would want to hit straight golf shots.

To learn more information about how to lock-in the specific ball flight alignment desired during your setup proceedings, you should visit http://lockedingolf.com.

There you will find the very best golf swing instructions available to lock-in the ball flight of your choice.

Golf Swing Tips: Swinging Your club With Only One Hand Is Not Predictable Of Ball Flight

tips on golf swing instructionsOne of the more significant golf swing tips is to understand that a golf ball will not fly in the same direction and pattern when swinging with only one hand on the club as when swinging with both hands  on a club.

These golf swing tips about swinging your club with only one hand to attempt to simulate a swing with both hands will help you avoid some flawed golf swing instruction.

You sometimes will see golfers at a practice range hitting balls with only their left hand gripped on the golf club, if right-handed, or with only their right hand gripped on the club if left-handed.

You may have seen John Daly or some other professional hitting golf balls with only one hand gripped on the club handle.

Practicing your golf swing by hitting balls with only one hand on your club, whether trying to hit a fade, trying to hit a draw or, trying to hit the golf ball straight, will not foretell how the ball will fly when hitting the ball with both hands gripped on the club.

The reason why is what I refer to as the “clubface rotational effect.”

The clubface will rotate differently to any body movement  as well as when the clubface is swung to the inside or to the outside of its established swing path when  the club is swung with only one hand gripped on the club in comparison with  both hands gripped on the club.

Therefore, when you swing your club with only one hand and hit a fade, do not expect the same ball flight when you then grip both hands on your club and swing precisely the same precise way.

Likewise, when you swing your club with only one hand and hit a draw, do not expect the same ball flight when you then grip both hands on your club and swing the same exact way.

Practicing your swing with only one hand on your club may help improve your balance and tempo but it will not improve your consistency in terms of ball flight.

In terms of improving your golf swing, one of the best golf swing tips is to practice with both hands on your golf club instead of with only one.

Improve Your Golf: An Easy And Simple Way To Hit A Power Fade

best golf swing lesson instructions One way to improve your golf is to learn how to hit a simple fade.

If you can hit a simple fade anywhere you need, anytime you want,  you definitely will improve your golf and lower your golf scores.

The conventional method of producing a fade golf shot is most unreliable because it is vulnerable to what many main street analysts refer to as the “double-cross” effect.

Instead of the ball fading as anticipated, the ball pulls in the opposite direction. It will not produce either a fade or a straight golf shot.

As I have mentioned many times previously in books, blogs, etc., the conventional way of attempting to hit a fade requires a purposeful misalignment of the shoulders to the target line and an intentional   manipulation of the clubface during the golf swing

If the shoulders are misaligned too much or, not enough, you are likely to hit anything but a fade, but probably either a pull or pull-hook golf shot

If the clubface is manipulated too much or, not enough, you also are likely to produce anything but a fade, but probably a pull or pull hook ball flight’

Even the best golfers in the world are often victimized by the “double-cross” effect as witnessed by thousands of television  viewers of every PGA tournament and as discussed by commentators.

The best golf swing instructions to hit a perfect fadeis to lock-in a fade ball flight alignment during the setup proceedings and then complete the setup routine.

If a locked-in fade ball flight alignment is locked-in during the setup routine and then, a comfortable stance and posture is assumed to the ball, the sweet spot of the clubface is centered as near as possible to the back of the ball, the shoulders are aligned parallel with the directional line (the line on which you want your ball to fly initially) and then, you maintain a steady head, planted left foot and execute a balanced golf swing, your ball will fade beautifully.

One of the easiest ways to lock-in a fade ball flight alignment is to perform the Instant Fade Technique™ I teach in the book, Surefire Golf.

All that is required is to assume a normal golf stance, ground the sole of your clubface in the middle of your stance, grip your hands on your club with either an overlapping, interlocking or baseball style  of grip and complete your grip by locking (docking) the lifeline of your right hand squarely and securely on your left hand.

Then unlock the lifeline of your right hand at least an inch from your left thumb, without completely un-gripping your club. Then relock the lifeline of your right hand squarely and securely on your left thumb.

Assuming you kept a stable stance during this procedure, you should   have a locked-in fade ball flight alignment at this point. However, you must not unlock the lifeline of your right hand from your left thumb thereafter.

Then once again, it just becomes a matter of assuming a comfortable stance and posture to your ball, centering the sweet spot of your clubface as near as possible to the back of your ball (within one-eighth of an inch to the back of your ball), align your shoulders parallel with your directional line, keep a steady head (a must), planted left heel and execute a balanced golf swing.

You then should watch your ball fade perfectly, discounting wind conditions and elevation differences between your stance and your ball. Remember to adjust your alignmnet, etc., for any wind conditions or elevation differences betwen your stance and your ball.

If you follow these instructions precisely you definitely will improve your golf.

Hit A Fade: Learn How To Perform The Miracle Fade Technique

golf methodOne of the best ways to hit a fade is to perform the Miracle Fade Technique™.

The reason why the Miracle Fade Technique™ is ideal to hit a fade is that it locks-in a fade ball flight alignment during the setup proceedings.

The locked-in fade ball flight alignment remains locked-in thereafter as long as you do not unlock the lifeline of your right hand from your left thumb during the remainder of the setup proceedings and golf swing.

Learning how to perform the Miracle Golf Technique™ will improve your golf game and lower your handicap.

Unless you lock-in a fade ball flight alignment during your setup routine, you must purposely misalign your shoulders with your target line and manipulate your club during your golf swing in order to produce a fade.

If you align your shoulders too much to the left of your target, you easily can double-cross the path of your club during your golf swing and hit a pull shot instead of a fade. This golf method it hit fade golf shots is very unreliable.

Likewise, if you do not have a locked-in fade ball flight alignment at the completion of your setup routine and manipulate your club too much during your golf swing you will cause the path of your club to double-cross and end up with a pull instead of a fade.

Although professional and low handicappers know how much to align their shoulders to the left of the target and how to manipulate the club during the golf swing to produce a fade, most high handicappers do not.

A much more reliable way to hit a fade is to lock-in a fade ball flight alignment during the setup proceedings.

The Miracle Fade Technique™ is one of more than twenty techniques I have been able to design, develop and perfect to lock-in a fade ball flight alignment during the setup proceedings.

Although much more detail on how to perform the Miracle Fade Technique™ is addressed in the book, How To Hit A Perfect Fade, featured on the website, http://lockedingolf.com.

Here are the golf swing instructions to perform this technique.

First, assume a comfortable stance and posture and then ground the sole of your clubface (preferably that of a wedge or shorter club) in the middle of your stance.

Next, grip your left hand on your club handle in a conventional (diagonal) manner.

Then keep your feet planted, your knees flexed and raise your shoulders and, only your shoulders, until your club face stops rotating counterclockwise.

Hold your shoulders in place and then grip your right hand on your club with an overlapping, interlocking or baseball style of grip. Complete your grip by locking the lifeline of your right hand squarely and securely on your left thumb.

Do not unlock your right-hand lifeline from your left thumb after completing your grip.

At this point you will have a locked-in fade ball flight alignment, assuming you followed the instructions precisely.

All that remains is to disconnect your left elbow from your left rib cage, assume a comfortable stance and posture to your ball, center the sweet spot of your ball as near as possible to the back of your ball (a must) and align your shoulders parallel with your directional line, the line on which you want your ball initially to fly.

Then keep your head steady (another must) and execute a simple golf swing without attempting to manipulate the club in any way. There is no need to do so. .

Keep in mind a fade is nothing more than a miniature slice so do not expect too much curvature in the golf shot, just the ideal amount for a perfect fade ball flight.

If you perform the  Miracle Golf Technique™ correctly you will know how to hit a fade any time you need.
